1. Open a FLA-file and unlock the "buttons" layer.
2. Choose Edit > Deselect All to ensure that nothing is selected on the Stage.
3. To change the color of a button (area, region, state etc. both basic color and/or mouse-over color) double click on the button. (The main screen of Flash application will go into the symbol-editing mode; the Timeline header will change to display four consecutive button frames: "Up", "Over", "Down" and "Hit".
4. Unlock the Layer 1 and click on the first frame labeled "Up". Select the object (area, region, state etc.). To select a basic color, click the triangle next to the Fill color box and do one of the following:
4.1. Choose a color swatch from the palette.
4.2. Type a color's hexadecimal value in the text box. 5. Click the second frame, labeled "Over". Select the object (area, region, state etc.). To select a mouse-over color, click the triangle next to the Fill color box and do one of the following: 5.1. Choose a color swatch from the palette.
5.2. Type a color's hexadecimal value in the text box. Note: The "Hit" frame is not visible on the Stage, but its shape defines the area of the button that responds mouse-overs and clicks. It is not necessary to change the color of the "Hit" object.
6. Choose Edit > Edit Movie to go back to movie editing mode.
7. Repeat steps 2-7 for other buttons.
Part 2. Changing lables and headings
1. Repeat steps 1-3 of Part 1. "Changing the color of a button".
2. To change the color of the button heading lock the Layer 1 and unlock the Layer 2. Select the object (the heading). To select a basic color, click the triangle next to the Fill color box and do one of the following:
2.1. Choose a color swatch from the palette.
2.2. Type a color's hexadecimal value in the text box.
3. Repeat steps 6-7 of Part 1. "Changing the color of a button".
